VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The Kalmiopsis Audubon Society invites all members to participate in our group’s projects and activities.
At this time, we need volunteers to help with programs (planning and doing), with the Storm Petrel newsletter, with outreach, and more. You can choose to help for a couple of hours or take on a larger project depending on your interests and experience.
Please contact KAS President Ann Vileisis if you are interested in becoming an active volunteer.
Here are some tasks we need help with--
Help to organize a program or outing
Help to pull together a list of email addresses for all KAS members
Help to keep Port Orford visitor center stocked with Curry County Bird Checklists
Help to write press releases about Audubon projects and activities
Help organize KAS litter pick up event / or just help with litter pick up on one of our miles on Hwy 101--one near Crook Point and one near Lookout Rock
Help to testify at public hearings about conservation issues on an as-needed basis (please indicate your willingness to help, and we'll call you when we need you)
Help with local trail work or invasive weed removal (At times, an informal group may convene to pull and cut invasive weeds, such as gorse or scotch broom, or to clear local trails. If you are interested in being called to help with this kind of activity, please contact Ann, and we'll put you on the list.)
