LET'S GO BIRDING

Come join the Kalmiopsis Audubon Society on our monthly bird-watching outings and see some of the amazing variety of birds in our local area. This is even more fun than seeing pictures or slides of birds. Learn or share tips on spotting birds and bird behavior.

Gary Maschmeyer has scheduled the outings ahead of time so you can plan accordingly. Typically, they are centered in Brookings but also include trips throughout our area. (See our new annual calendar below) Most of the trips will get us back by lunchtime, and participants can leave early.

No birding experience is required, and experts are welcome to come share their knowledge. While we do a lot of walking, when we spot birds, we do a lot of looking, which can require standing in the same spot for long periods of time. These trips are weather-dependent. Binoculars are recommended, and we have a few binoculars that first-timers may borrow.

The group meets at Alder Medical Clinic, 412 Alder St. in Brookings (BR), at the times indicated below to car pool. Gold Beach folks can meet at The Event Center in Gold Beach (GB) at the times indicated for a no-host car pool.
