THE STORM PETREL

kalmiopsis.logo.1.0.smaller_yet_1Our quarterly newsletter, The Storm Petrel, is the best source for news about local issues of wildlife and environment on the South Coast.

It is named for the Leach's storm petrels that live a pelagic life over the Pacific and come to close to land only to nest in burrows on grassy islands off our coast.

The Storm Petrel has repeatedly won awards from the National Audubon Society for having the best newsletter for a chapter of our size.

Free copies can be picked up at libraries in Port Orford, Gold Beach, and Brookings, and at Seaweed Market in Port Orford.

If you are a member of Kalmiopsis Audubon, you will receive your copy in the mail.

If you are interested in helping with The Storm Petrel newsletter by contributing content or by helping with our folding and mailing parties, please contact Ann (annvil @earthlink.net).

The deadlines for submissions in 2010 are as follows: January 15, April 15, July 15, October 15.
